Medtech International
September 1, 2022 - March 1, 2023
The Medtech International project was set up to arrive at a targeted internationalisation approach aimed at the internationalisation of medical technology, together with the stakeholders from the top sectors involved. Unfortunately, this is still an underexposed aspect of the current internationalisation approach. In particular, the internationalisation of medtech aimed at OEMs as a customer group (as opposed to healthcare providers) does not yet have structural cooperation.
About the project
The objective of the Medtech International project is to strengthen and accelerate the internationalisation of medical technology, with Germany as a case study. The Medtech International project aims to deliver the following results:
- Internationalisation approach and agenda for MedtechNL ready; with Germany as a practical example case;
- Reinforce Dutch cooperation and approach to internationalisation of the medical technology value chain;
- Concept plan and approach with bilateral field labs discussed with German counterparts. Contours for next steps defined.
- Strengthened existing relationships for Dutch companies and organisations and created new contacts in Germany.
The planning
In the coming period, a number of focus sessions will be organised with Medtech companies and clusters that are active in this field (like TFHC, FME Zorg, and regional organisations) that will examine specific sub-issues. The specific topics are determined together with the relevant Top Sectors LSH, HTSM and ICT and can address, for example, specific (coherent) key technologies; market access issues; stimulation of (bilateral) innovation cooperation; transitions in healthcare, etc. Germany is used as an example to guide the discussions.
