Why attend

Belgium

Belgium offers a well-organized and innovation-friendly healthcare system, making it an attractive entry point for Dutch LSH organizations, particularly in the areas of Medtech, digital health, and elderly care innovation. The country actively invests in healthcare modernization, with growing demand for smart medical devices, remote care solutions, and integrated digital platforms that improve patient outcomes and system efficiency. Belgium’s compact size and interconnected health networks also make it a practical testbed for Dutch companies looking to scale innovations in real-world care settings.

United Kingdom

Post-Brexit, the UK is repositioning itself as a global leader in health innovation. The NHS remains a massive single-payer system that actively seeks digital and Medtech solutions to relieve workforce pressure. With over £36 billion spent annually on health tech and life sciences, the UK offers significant potential for Dutch SMEs with validated pilots and scalable solutions in remote monitoring, AI diagnostics, and homecare support.

Ireland

Ireland offers a dynamic and innovation-LSH ecosystem, supported by multinational corporations. The country’s healthcare sector is undergoing significant transformation, with a focus on digitalization, an ageing population, and more efficient service delivery. This shift creates strong opportunities for Dutch companies specializing in Connected Health, MedTech, and Healthy Ageing. Key priorities include telemedicine, AI-driven diagnostics, remote patient monitoring, and assistive technologies that support ageing-in-place. With a collaborative business culture and increasing demand for personalized, tech-enabled healthcare, Ireland presents a compelling entry point for Dutch innovators looking to scale in Europe.

This session brings together government actors, market experts, and companies to explore how to engage effectively with the healthcare systems in Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Ireland—and how Dutch organizations can contribute to future-proofing care delivery in these countries.

What to expect?

These countries each present unique opportunities for Dutch LSH stakeholders. For example:

  • The UK’s NHS is investing heavily in digital innovation to address staffing shortages.
  • Belgium’s proximity and strong biopharma cluster allow for joint R&D initiatives and clinical trial collaboration.
  • Ireland’s open innovation culture makes it a practical launchpad for scale-up pilots. During the session, we will also highlight a newly released market study that outlines strategic entry pathways for Dutch LSH companies, including guidance on navigating procurement processes, building partnerships with key stakeholders such as the Health Service Executive (HSE), and aligning solutions with Ireland’s health priorities.

This session will help you:

  • Understand key trends, challenges, and government priorities in each market.
  • Discover where your solution fits and what the entry pathways are.
  • Connect directly with embassy representatives and in-market experts.
  • Get practical advice on regulatory alignment, finding partners, and accessing funding.
