From November 21st to 24th 2016, Task Force Health Care together with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Dutch Embassy in Jakarta organised an economic mission to the Republic of Indonesia with a dedicated health sector programme.
Indonesia is the fourth most populated country in the world. Achieving Universal Health Coverage is one of the national priorities. In parallel, the private health sector is expanding rapidly. A total of 27 Dutch healthcare companies and organisations visited Indonesia. During workshops and site visits they met with Indonesian counterparts in the public and private healthcare domain. The Dutch delegation was warmly welcomed by RSCM Cipto Mangunkusumo, Siloam Hospitals Group, Hermina Hospitals Group.
Next, the health conference on ‘Achieving Universal Health Coverage in Indonesia by Strengthening Primary Health Care’ was attended by over 60 Indonesian invitees and was closed by HE Puan Maharani (Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture), HE Nila Farid Moeloek (Minister of Health Indonesia), and HE Mark Rutte (Prime Minister of the Netherlands).
The Dutch healthcare delegation experienced a great interest in their expertise and solutions. INCISION Academy and Handicare Stairlifts signed contracts during the mission. Erasmus MC signed a Memorandum of Understanding for partnering in Research Education with Indonesian Endowment Fund for Education (Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan / LPDP) and 6 Indonesian partner universities. The economic mission helped the participants to meet with high-level Indonesian counterparts and multiple follow-up appointments were already scheduled during the mission.
