Impact Mission Kenya 2025 – Life Sciences & Health

Digital Meet-up on Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and United Arab Emirates

The Netherlands and Kenya have forged a dynamic partnership in Life Sciences & Health (LSH), grounded in mutual ambition to strengthen healthcare systems through innovation, inclusivity, and impact. Building on previous missions and years of bilateral collaboration, we are pleased to invite Dutch health organisations to join the 2025 Combi Track Impact Mission to Kenya, taking place from 13–17 October 2025 in Nairobi.

When: 13–17 October 2025
WhereNairobi & Kisumu Region

This impact mission focuses on connecting Dutch health innovations to Kenya’s diverse healthcare landscape, engaging with private, public, and faith-based healthcare providers, together responsible for delivering care to the majority of Kenyans. While the private and faith-based sectors account for over half of all facilities and often operate with greater agility, the public sector remains critical for scaling impact and aligning with national priorities. The impact mission facilitates direct engagement with key private umbrella organisations such as the Kenya Healthcare Federation (KHF), RUPHA, CHAK, and KCCB, as well as with county-level health representatives from Kisumu County and Homa Bay County. Building on last year’s groundwork, this year’s programme offers a deeper, more intensive follow-up with these stakeholders to explore joint opportunities, gain insight into financing systems and opportunities, and/or identify viable entry points for collaboration and innovation.

Organised by Task Force Health Care (TFHC) and local expert partner Open Phences, and supported by the Netherlands Embassy in Nairobi (EKN) and RVO, the impact mission forms part of the broader Combi Track Kenya programme.

Why Kenya?

Kenya is a regional health and innovation hub, with a growing demand for high-quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare solutions.

While challenges such as funding delays, bureaucratic hurdles, and infrastructural gaps remain within Kenya’s public health sector, important progress is being made, particularly through Universal Health Coverage (UHC) reforms and county-level health leadership. These reforms are gradually improving coordination, procurement processes, and openness to innovation. As a result, the public sector is becoming increasingly accessible for collaboration, especially solutions that align with county health strategies and strengthen service delivery. At the same time, the private and faith-based sector continues to lead in agility and innovation, with strong interest in diagnostics, digital tools, biomedical services, and workforce development. The combination of growing public sector readiness and private sector dynamism creates new opportunities for impactful partnerships across Kenya’s health ecosystem.

Through associations like KHF, RUPHA, and CHAK, these providers are increasingly organised and open to collaboration, representing a strategic entry point for Dutch solutions looking to scale sustainably and generate impact.
