Why Texas?
Texas is emerging as a global hub for MedTech and digital health innovation, offering a supportive ecosystem ideal for Dutch LSH companies looking to expand. Texas is home to prestigious, world-class institutions – like Texas Medical Center, the Texas eHealth Agency, and MD Anderson Cancer Center – providing many opportunities for organizations to collaborate with leading healthcare organizations. Moreover, Texas has a thriving startup ecosystem, with supportive incubators, accelerators, and venture capitalists to invest in innovative healthcare technologies.
Texas Medical Center (TMC) specifically stands out as a leading life science ecosystem dedicated to advancing healthcare. TMC spans over 70 million square feet and has more than 120,000 employees. In 2023, TMC and Health~Holland launched the TMC Netherlands BioBridge. This strategic partnership serves as a conduit for Dutch entrepreneurs, researchers, clinicians, and industry stakeholders, facilitating their access to the U.S. market and promoting knowledge exchange.
