Los Angeles is rapidly establishing itself as a premier hub for digital health and MedTech innovation, offering abundant opportunities for organizations in the Life Sciences and Health (LSH) sector. Are you interested in the trends, developments, and opportunities in the LSH sector specifically in Los Angeles? Then join our LSH mission to Los Angeles.

When: 3-7 February, 2025
Where: California (Los Angeles), United States
For: Dutch LSH organizations active in Digital Health, MedTech, Telemedicine, Medical Devices

Why California?

California is, in economic terms, by far the largest state in the US and the healthcare market is equally vast. The Greater Los Angeles Area has established itself as a leading hub for digital health, MedTech, and telemedicine, offering abundant opportunities for innovation in the healthcare sector. Home to some of the most advanced hospitals and research institutions in the United States, LA excels in integrating digital technology with medical devices. The region is witnessing a surge in startups focused on addressing various healthcare challenges, fostering collaboration among entrepreneurs, developers, and investors that drive advancements aimed at enhancing patient care and outcomes.

For the entire region, the rapidly increasing adoption of telehealth provides many new opportunities for digital healthcare solutions and medical device companies to develop new models that put the patient-provider relationship, as well as education, at the centre of health care, with the goal of improving care outcomes.

What to expect?

The Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) in Los Angeles, and Task Force Health Care (TFHC) will organize the LSH mission to California. During this visit, various stakeholders in Los Angeles will be visited, among others private hospitals and important health networks. The program is still under development but will include:

  • Site visits in and around Los Angeles to private hospitals, universities, and health networks
  • Roundtable discussions on technology and investment trends, FDA certification, and possible collaboration opportunities
  • Networking meetings

Building on the momentum of the LSH mission, we are excited to highlight the synergy with the upcoming ScaleNL event: the Cedars-Sinai x NBSO LA x ScaleNL: Healthtech Mini-Accelerator 2025.
