Ukraine – Netherlands | Public-Private Health Care Recovery Platform
January 1 – December 31, 2024

The public-private Platform Health Care Recovery Ukraine brings together Ukrainian and Dutch organizations with the goal of assisting Ukraine in countering some of the adverse impacts of the war on the healthcare system. Identification of financing opportunities to support healthcare recovery is key in this aspect.

Kenya | Life Sciences and Health Combi Track Aid & Trade
January 1 – December 31, 2024
Kisumu, September 2024

The combi track healthcare aims to advance Universal Health Coverage in Kenya by improving access, quality, financing, and responsiveness with Dutch and Kenyan expertise. Focused on enhancing primary healthcare, the initiative emphasizes strengthening (digital) health infrastructure, improving health data connectivity, and refining referral systems. Activities include knowledge exchange, capacity building, and business development.

The Netherlands | Incoming Visit China
July 3-7, 2024

From the 3rd to the 7th of July, a high-level delegation of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), one of China’s most important government agencies, will visit the Netherlands. The NDRC has signed a MoU with the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport to address the challenges of its ageing society together. The incoming visit, initiated by the Dutch Ministry of Health Welfare and Sports, aims to facilitate policy exchange on population ageing & elderly care and business cooperation in the field of elderly care / silver economy.

On Friday 5 July, TFHC will host the China – Netherlands Business Meet & Greet in Utrecht, open to all Dutch LSH organizations with an interest in Sino-Dutch cooperation.

Visit Kenya – Nairobi & conference Digitalisation Kisumu
14 -18 October, Kenya

Join us at this visit to Nairobi and the annual conference in Kisumu, as we forge deeper ties between Kenya and The Netherlands. Our objective is to enhance local initiatives by infusing them with expertise and international exposure. In our inaugural year, we’re focusing on digitalization, aligning with Kisumu County’s vision and leveraging Dr. Ganda’s leadership as Chair of the Digital Health Committee/Health Secretariat. This event on 14 -18 October 2024 promises to be a catalyst for bilateral collaboration, making it an opportunity not to be missed. We will share more information on the conference soon.

As part of a multi-annual program TFHC has been working with the Dutch Ministry of Health Welfare and Sports to promote Dutch elderly care solutions and to identify opportunities for Sino-Dutch cooperation. Sustainability in healthcare has emerged as an additional topic of mutual interest. In 2024, we will explore possibilities for follow-up activities towards China and possibly Hong Kong.
