With the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, TFHC Partners have been contributing to this battle from the beginning. Below you will find an overview of corresponding solutions within the TFHC network:

Amref Flying Doctors
Amref COVID-19 Africa Information Centre provides real-time statistics, FAQ and Community Awareness & Education tools, including a social media toolkit. We educate health workers on COVID-19 leveraging innovative mobile technology.
Royal Tropical Institute (KIT)
As COVID-19 continues to spread across the world, it is affecting every aspect of our lives. It has highlighted just how fragile many of our most important systems are, from health systems and economies to education and foodchains. With these things in mind, there are many ways in which KIT is supporting the Covid-19 response both in the Netherlands and across the world.
Careanimations
Careanimations has produced 23 Corona videos in Dutch and 19 videos in English.
Some of these videos are universally made and suitable for many other countries. Careanimations is willing to give free access to these videos to any country that has a need or interest for it. The only costs involved for the ‘country’ will come from translations and possible local hosting fees. The rest of the process will be produced and delivered by Careanimations. This will be done at no charge, but donations are warmly welcomed.
The profile of the videos is as follows:
- There are 23 videos with a duration between 0’45” and 3’45”.
- The videos are distributed in 12 categories.
- The content is 100% based upon the recommendations and guidelines of the RIVM, the National Institute of Health in the Netherlands.
- In case the information of the RIVM is updated, the videos will be updated within a few days.
- The content is a combination of a care provider talking in easy-to-understand spoken language and pictograms. No written text is used.

Quick reference guide for Results Based Financing (RBF) in times of Covid-19. The document aims to make an inventory of RBF adaptations that can be considered as part of a COVID-19 response, with the dual objective of containing the spread of the virus and preserving the availability and quality of vital public health services. As an international NGO with long-standing experience in the application of RBF, especially in fragile and/or conflict-affected settings, Cordaid has seen many such adaptations work in the past.

PharmAccess
Excited to announce that PharmAccess Foundation’s ‘SafeCare4COVID’ digital mobile application has officially launched online! With this app, health facilities in resource-restricted settings can self assess and improve the quality of their services using certified #safecare methodology as well as check availability of equipment and PPEs, to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.
UMCG / Tracer
The COVID-19 rapid cure task force is a collaboration between TRACER and the UMCG is offering the global community unique access to immediately generate in-human data on a potential COVID-19 treatment or vaccine by providing expertise, infrastructure and capacity.
Project Development
MeduProf-S
MeduProf-S is one of the initiators and partner in a network in the Netherlands with the 3d printing community. Spread over the country already more then 170 3d printing experts are active in the www.makers4all.eu platform.
In no time people who did not know each other before are working online together covering the country with face-shields, mouth-cap-clips and dooropeners. The strength of this activity is that we are near to the general practitioners, the homecare workers, elderly care homes and hospitals.
On estimate 220 printers are printing day and night corona safety items and deliver them the same day to the people who are not served by the official system. In two weeks we printed over 10.000 items and are almost at a factory output level. With this activity we show how you can fill a gap in a crisis by using a large network. At this moment our partners in Tanzania, Zanzibar and Uganda are supported by us preparing the same sort of activities.

Our inflatable tent MTF is designed to offer primary health care to persons suspected of and confirmed of being infected with the Coronavirus. We crossed the previous Hospitainer infectious disease treatment facilities and recommendations from the CDC to come up with this design.

Air Fluidised Care Systems are taking over a variety of circumstances needed at the ICU. The microclimate generated around the patient (constant temperature, minimum pressure at the skin and low relative humidity) optimize conditions for treatment and reduce infection risk. These smart beds are also effective for these reasons for ventilated patients lying face down. In addition, only 1 nurse is needed to turn a patient.

Delft Imaging
We are specialized in tuberculosis (TB) screening and with its proven CAD4TB solution has screened over 6 million people in 40 countries. We optimized CAD4TB to triage COVID-19 suspects and are launching this solution free-of-charge.CAD4COVID: an artificial intelligence software that triages COVID-19 suspects on chest X-rays images.
To date, we have received a lot of interest in our CAD4COVID solution. It’s great that Dutch media like Telegraaf, Nederlands Dagblad and Nieuws.nl are also showing interest in our solution. The article in Noord-Hollands Dagblad explains how X-ray images combined with our CAD4COVID software can help doctors with detecting the COVID-19 virus in patients.

At the Elsevier’s Novel Coronavirus Information Center you will find expert, curated information for the research and health community on SARS-CoV-2 (the novel coronavirus) and COVID-19 (the disease). Under the Research tab, you will find the latest early-stage and peer-reviewed research on COVID-19 from journals including The Lancet and Cell Press. We have also made nearly 20,000 related articles free to access ScienceDirect.

Patient Journey App
Our App has been expanded with a special care path regarding COVID-19 with the aim of relieving care providers. In addition, the app is linked to the OLVG corona check, which is being scaled up further and further. Thomas Timmers, the co-founder of Interactive Studios, explains how both apps support each other. “Hospitals can use this care path free of charge for as long as necessary”.

Online patient screening
We can help healthcare institutions manage the increased patient flows resulting from the coronavirus (COVID-19) through online screening, follow-up with questionnaires and facilitating collaboration with external call centers.
National online portal
Philips launched a national online portal for the digital exchange of relevant COVID-19 patient data between hospitals in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and the Erasmus Medical Center.

We launched a rapidly deployable call centre solution with Telehealth technology for healthcare providers who are facing COVID-19 Coronavirus problems.

We developed an ultra-lightweight, easy to administer workflow for identifying candidates for COVID-19 video evaluations and transitioning to video calls immediately.
Topicus
We now offer remote digital care for 350,000 people with the consultation application in the Eemland region (Amersfoort, Barneveld and surroundings). For digital triage by the citizen/patient, for online consultations/chats and for video calling, and now also very relevant during the Corona crisis.
