Earlier this month, our Dutch digital health delegation embarked on a meaningful mission to Berlin to participate in DMEA 2025, Europe’s leading event for digital health. The objective? To explore cutting-edge innovations in healthcare IT, showcase Dutch excellence in digital health, and foster new international collaborations across the ecosystem.

We were proud to represent the Netherlands alongside a dynamic group of digital health companies, knowledge institutes, and government partners. With a strong focus on internationalization and collaboration, the Dutch Lounge was buzzing with activity throughout the event.

This collective presence was made possible through close collaboration with the Embassy Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Germany, of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Switzerland, Amsterdam Trade & Innovate, the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) Stuttgart, ROM Utrecht Region, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), and Task Force Health Care (TFHC). Together, we showcased the strength and innovation of the Dutch digital health ecosystem on the international stage.

What We Did

Over the course of the event, we successfully accomplished several impactful activities together with our partners. These included:

  • Hosting a joint networking reception to strengthen relations, with inspiring opening remarks by Robert-Jan Sieben.
  • Showcasing innovative Dutch health tech organizations at the NL Lounge.
  • Facilitating multiple pitches, and meetings, creating valuable exposure and new leads for participating companies.
  • Participating in panel sessions, providing insights into the future of digital health systems.

Key Takeaways

From our rich interactions and on-the-ground experiences, we’ve gathered a few key insights:

  1. Demand for Smart Collaborations – German stakeholders are actively seeking international partnerships to address digital transformation challenges, especially in AI and telehealth.
  1. Showcasing Dutch Strength – The Dutch digital health ecosystem stands out for its agile innovations and interoperability solutions, which were well received by international peers.
  1. Market Opportunities – With ongoing investments in digital infrastructure under Germany’s Krankenhauszukunftsgesetz (Hospital Future Act), now is the right time for Dutch health tech companies to position themselves as solution providers.

What’s Next?

Returning from Berlin, our focus now shifts to deepening the connections and momentum generated at DMEA. Our next steps include:

  • Sharing outcomes with key stakeholders
  • Planning targeted follow-up with potential partners and clients met at the event
  • Exploring participation in similar international trade shows to further boost Dutch visibility

We’re excited about the future and committed to continuing our mission of making digital health accessible, effective, and innovative across borders.
