Colombia has one of the most developed healthcare systems in Latin America and continues to invest in healthcare infrastructure, digitalization, and medical technology despite ongoing healthcare reforms. While the government’s efforts to improve equity and strengthen the public healthcare system create regulatory uncertainty, there is continued demand for solutions that improve access to care, particularly in rural areas, increase efficiency, and address the growing burden of chronic diseases and an ageing population. The Netherlands is regarded as a valued partner in healthcare innovation, offering opportunities for Dutch companies in digital health, medical technology, and integrated care.

Mexico continues to expand universal healthcare through IMSS-Bienestar while investing in hospital infrastructure, digitalization, and healthcare workforce development. At the same time, the country is strengthening its position as a regional hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing and medical devices through nearshoring and supply chain diversification. These developments create opportunities for Dutch companies in digital health, medical technology, hospital development, and life sciences.
