India is an important, strategic partner for the Netherlands, both economically and geopolitically. India has a rapidly growing healthcare market with strong government investment in infrastructure, digital health, domestic manufacturing, and Medical Technology (MedTech).
At the same time, the Netherlands has internationally competitive strengths in MedTech, supported by eight regional innovation ecosystems and key enabling technologies identified in the National Technology Strategy.
Within the Market-Theme combination MedTech India, Task Force Health Care (TFHC) and Health Holland – in close collaboration with NLWorks, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), and the Netherlands Economic Network – will develop a roadmap towards a structured multi-annual public-private programme for MedTech collaboration between the Netherlands and India.

The MedTech India Roadmap initiative involves the coordination and execution of the development of a strategic roadmap that will form the basis of a multi-annual public-private program focused on strengthening the international positioning and earning potential of the Netherlands MedTech sector in India.
The activities are aimed at developing a broadly supported strategy based on market validation, public-private collaboration, and joint prioritization. Dutch companies, knowledge institutions, ecosystem partners, government stakeholders, and relevant Indian stakeholders will be actively engaged throughout the process.
Ultimately, this will result in a public-private strategic roadmap with clearly defined priorities, governance arrangements, a multi-year action plan, and a solid foundation for the development of a follow-up programme.
How This Event Supports Your Growth
The overall objective of the market-theme combination MedTech-India is to strengthen the competitive position of the Dutch MedTech sector in India and to convert existing traction into sustained market presence, scalable partnerships, and structural economic impact.
To achieve this, we will work towards an action plan in close collaboration with the Dutch MedTech sector. The plan will include a series of activities designed to:
Activities and Relevant Information 2026
Activities during the roadmap phase include four regional sessions in the Netherlands to inform Dutch stakeholders about market opportunities in India and to collect relevant input for the MedTech India Roadmap. The regional sessions will be used to validate strategic decisions, prioritise themes, and mobilise companies for the upcoming multi-annual program.
Additional market and business intelligence will be collected based on market research, stakeholder and ecosystem analysis, and identification of market opportunities and challenges for Dutch companies. A fact-finding visit will support the validation of the roadmap, strengthen the public-private partnership, and build sustainable relations with Indian stakeholders.
Upon completion of the roadmap a national validation- and launching event will be organised. During this event, the India MedTech Roadmap will be presented and companies will be invited to participate in the multi-annual public-private programming.
