How this event supports your growth
Nigeria is one of Africa’s fastest-growing healthcare markets and is undergoing a major transformation of its healthcare system. Through the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative (NHSRII) and the implementation of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Act, the government is accelerating progress towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by expanding health insurance, strengthening primary healthcare, and introducing more strategic healthcare purchasing and provider accreditation. These reforms are creating new opportunities for innovation, private sector collaboration, and investment across the healthcare value chain.
At the same time, Nigeria is investing in the modernisation of healthcare infrastructure, the digitalisation of health services, and the expansion of healthcare financing at both federal and state level. The government is revitalising primary healthcare centres, increasing the use of electronic health records and digital health solutions, and strengthening healthcare quality and accountability through digital systems and accreditation mechanisms.
With a population of more than 230 million people and a rapidly expanding private healthcare sector Nigeria presents significant opportunities for Dutch Life Sciences & Health organisations. Areas with particularly strong potential include digital health, medical technology and diagnostics, maternal and child health, specialised care, healthcare infrastructure, sustainable healthcare financing, and local production partnerships.
