How to find distributors and set up effective distribution channels? An important challenge raised by MSupport International, our new partner of the Task Force Health Care (TFHC). Henk Deuschle (founder) and Babs Mertens (International Sales & Marketing Manager) were looking for expert advice. After MSupport International found out they were not eligible for RVO’s Starters International Business (SIB) support, we managed to help them through our own TFHC Helpdesk.
The TFHC Helpdesk provides our partners with additional support. This additional support can be provided if a TFHC partner is not eligible for the standard support offered by the Dutch government.
Introducing a new product abroad
MSupport International has been supplying operators of city sightseeing tours with products – such as headphones – for more than 20 years. In recent years, they expanded to the international hospital market, offering disposable headphones for patients. In addition, they offer antimicrobial headphones called Sanibits. Utilising Sanibits gives the reassurance that no cross-contamination of a healthcare-associated infection will occur via patient headphones.
Getting a new business up and running turned out to be a challenge, especially in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic. SIB support was unavailable, because MSupport did not meet the eligibility requirements from RVO. MSupport continued their search for a solution. The TFHC Helpdesk provided an efficient way to move forward.
New insights from experts
Via our Helpdesk we connected MSupport International to Medical Device experts Cees Zuiderwijk (Bioness Europe) and Edgar Kasteel (Luctor Medical). Both experts have substantial experience and knowledge regarding the medical device market, distributors, logistics and the corresponding internationalisation process. By expanding their network, they came into contact with the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO), as well as relevant firms in the United Kingdom. Based on their feedback and ideas, MSupport International is currently developing a new strategy for distributor search, international sales and overall market entry.
