We are proud to Share Insights from the LSH Trade Mission to Norway & Sweden!
It was inspiring to witness the dynamic developments within the Nordic Life Science and Health market and explore opportunities for the participating Dutch companies and organizations looking to engage in these markets.
Our first day kicked off with a Health Seminar in Sweden. We gained valuable insights into the Swedish healthcare system from Business Region Göteborg and explored Health Tech opportunities with Sahlgrenska Science Park and Co-AX Accelerator. The day was enriched by presentations on innovation support from the Innovation Platform in the Västra Götaland region and legal guidance from WERKS Advokater A.
On the second day, we visited the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, where Gothia Forum focused on support functions for clinical trials and two projects on prevention were showcased. We also toured GoCo Health Innovation City, a new hub attracting researchers and entrepreneurs from around the globe, like Norlandia.
Our third day began with a Health Seminar at Oslo Science Park, where we were welcomed by Bent-Håkon Lauritzen and Trine Radmann from Norway Health Tech. We explored the Oslo ecosystem for health tech innovation, with insights from Oslo Business Region, Innovation Norway and Nordic Proof. The distributor Hepro shared their perspective on the implementation and use of welfare technology.
The day concluded with an inspiring networking reception organized by the NL Embassy in Norway, including a speech on future collaboration between Norway and NL by the ambassador Ines Capoolse.
On the final day, we delved into the incubator program of Digital WellVentures and Oslo University Hospital, focusing on fostering innovation in healthcare.
Three key takeaways:
1. Innovation hubs are the growth catalysts: Facilities like Sahlgrenska Science Park, GoCo Health Innovation City and Forskningsparken – Oslo Science Park are leading platforms fostering cutting-edge health tech innovations.
2. Strong support for market entry: From legal advisory at WERKS Advokater AB to innovation acceleration through Co-AX and DigitalWell Ventures (Stefan Petersson), there’s significant support for international companies aiming to enter the Swedish and Norwegian health markets.
3. Opportunities in clinical collaboration: Institutions like Sahlgrenska University Hospital and Oslo universitetssykehus are open to partnerships, particularly in advancing clinical trials and healthcare delivery innovations.
It was a pleasure to connect with such inspiring stakeholders and see the potential for impactful partnerships. Interested in exploring the Nordic LSH market? Let’s connect and discuss opportunities Task Force Health Care (TFHC)!
