Improving healthcare together by connecting the right people is the mission of Task Force Health Care (TFHC), so even during the covid pandemic TFHC actively organized digital events, but we’re grateful to finally meet our counterparts physically to reconnect on many different levels. Micha van Lin, director of TFHC says: “Since 2015 we have been active in Colombia and we look forward to intensifying the cooperation in the next 3 years.” This all starts with the Life Sciences & Health mission to Colombia this week with a Dutch delegation, amongst which the PIB cluster WeCareColombia. They will meet important stakeholders and decision-makers and will attend the signing of the renewed Memorandum of Understanding between the National Business Association of Colombia (ANDI) and TFHC.

The delegation consists of 16 participants representing companies, knowledge institutes and universities, and public organizations active in the health sector. This mission is the perfect opportunity for both Colombia and the Netherlands to share their knowledge and expertise, all to support integrated healthcare with solutions in Colombia, via network meetings, hospital visits, and presentations with more than 100 guests, including some of the major health organizations in Colombia, such as ACEMI, Asocajas, and Compensar. This all to stimulate fruitful exchanges on current life sciences and health topics.

ANDI, one of our major collaborative parties in Colombia

We’re happy to announce that ANDI, currently the country’s most important non-profit organization with more than 1.200 members that represent around 40 % and 55 % of the national GDP and one of our partners in Colombia, will sign a Memorandum of Understanding to promote information exchange in the Life Sciences & Health sector to strengthen the intergovernmental exchange of information and views on life sciences and health policies, regulations, and development models.

ANDI shall develop and strengthen cooperation and exchange within the following topics:

  • eHealth and digital solutions
  • Prevention and public health screening programs
  • Healthcare accessibility for remote/rural areas
  • Elderly care
  • Nursing

Because of this, ANDI will work closely to withhold the WeCareColombia PIB to build on strong relations, facilitate pilot projects, and stimulate the knowledge exchange between the Dutch and Colombian healthcare systems.

About Partners for International Business (PIB)

The PIB program allows Dutch businesses to enter a public-private partnership to realize their international ambitions by joining forces with other businesses in the LSH industry and with the Dutch government.

This cluster contains 5 organizations that complement each other: Topicus, Spectator Healthcare Technology, Resonandina, Erasmus MC, and Philips. Together they form a consortium with a focus on stakeholders in Colombia to improve public health, digital solutions, and accessibility to integrated healthcare. TFHC acts as the coordinator of this consortium.

You can expect many business advantages when signing up for a PIB consortium. For example, the WeCareColombia cluster will:

  • exchange knowledge between Dutch and Colombian governments, knowledge institutes, and companies;
  • participate in important sectoral trade fairs in Colombia;
  • organize outgoing and incoming missions, matchmaking activities, and other meetings;
  • gain a common communication strategy and associated communication tools in NL Branding style.
