The Dutch Enterprise Agency (RVO), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and the Dutch diplomatic network in France organized, in cooperation with Task Force Health Care, an Economic Mission to the Paris Healthcare Week and Lyon from 20–24 May 2019.
Numerous Dutch organizations, active in eHealth and digitalization, medical devices and medical technology, senior care and hospital build and/or hospital efficiency, were led by Bruno Bruins, Minister for Medical Care, Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport.
During their visit, it showed that the French healthcare market provides opportunities for innovative Dutch businesses and knowledge institutes, active in the Life Sciences & Health Sector. As a fact, TFHC partner WatchYourMeds successfully signed an agreement for the launch of WatchYourMeds with Health Services Paris in the presence of Minister Bruins.
With more than 67 million inhabitants, France is one of the largest healthcare markets and economies in Europe. However, access to healthcare – especially in its rural areas, remains a challenge. Next, to this, France is dealing with an aging society and an increasing number of chronically ill. Reforms in the French healthcare system, focused on digitalization, increase the opportunities for innovative products and services.
